Hanfu Tops Custom Form

How to take measurements

  • Start with a flexible measuring tape and a piece of string (optional). Label the measurements as you go.
  • Measure against skin or thin unpadded underwear.
  • Relax and keep the tape completely straight - double check this for each measurement.
  • Do not tighten or loosen the tape. It should lay flat and snug against your body.

It's easier if someone helps you, but doing it yourself is possible. Just follow the instructions carefully and double check each measurement for the best results!

Custom garments can't be started without the form, so make sure to submit it promptly to avoid delays. If you have any questions, contact me and I'd be more than happy to help :)

  • Measure around the fullest part of your bust/chest. The fullest part is usually across the nipples (apex) , but can vary.

Underbust

  • Measure around the ribcage, just under your bust/chest. This is usually where the bra band is.

Waist

  • Measure around the smallest part of your waist. This is where your body creases when you bend side to side.

Shoulder to Hem (length of shirt)

    • Measure from your shoulder to your desired length of the top.
    • If this is very different from the original design (ex. requesting floor length when the item is a crop top), I will contact you to discuss. There may be extra charges or limitations.

      Arm

      • Measure from the base of your neck to your wrist
      • **Keep in mind most hanfu goes past the wrist to create a full look. For long-sleeve hanfu, I add 4-6+ inches to this. If you want the sleeve to be shorter or longer than the design, please specify in the comments or email me to discuss.

      Bicep

      • Measure around your bicep or the fullest part of your arm.

        * The clothes are based only on the measurements you provide, so please check for accuracy. Keep in mind it's not always possible to achieve a perfect fit without an in-person fitting. We may slightly alter the shape and lines of the garment to better fit you. We do not currently accept returns or exchanges on custom items.
