Skirt Custom Form

How to take measurements

  • Start with a flexible measuring tape, notepad, and a piece of string/ribbon (optional). Label the measurements as you go.
  • Measure against skin or thin unpadded underwear.
  • Relax and keep the tape completely straight - double check this for each measurement.
  • Do not tighten or loosen the tape, or else it will be inaccurate. It should lay flat and snug against your body.

It's easier if someone helps you, but doing it yourself is possible. Just follow the instructions carefully and double check each measurement for the best results!

Custom garments can't be started without the form, so make sure to submit it promptly to avoid delays! If you need any help during this process, contact me and I'd be more than happy to help :)

Waist

Drawing of body with red line at waist

  • Measure around the smallest part of your waist. This is where your body creases when you bend side to side.
  • (Optional) Tie a string around your waist as reference. Make sure it is completely straight.

Waist to Desired Hem

  • Measure from your waist to your desired hem. A hem is where the clothing ends. Typical hanfu skirts end at the ankle or floor. It may help to measure an existing skirt instead.
  • If your input is very different from the design (ex. requesting a floor-length skirt when the item is a mini), I will contact you to discuss this. There may be extra costs or limitations.

* The clothes are based only on the measurements you provide, so please check for accuracy. Keep in mind it's not always possible to achieve a perfect fit without an in-person fitting. We may slightly alter the shape and lines of the garment to better fit you. We do not accept returns or exchanges on custom items. Please consider this before placing a custom order.
